07 Feb / Free Colorado Comp Available Now!
This months marks one year in our new location and to help celebrate we have just posted a free compilation! Click here ! 13 bands, 13 songs, all from Colorado and all recorded within the last year at Black in Bluhm! There is a little somethin’ for everyone on this thing so dig in and if you like a band on here go buy their record or go see em play a show! Thanks everyone for a great year and please share this with everyone!
Ian Cooke and band will be joining us tomorrow for another “live” recording and video shoot! This will be the last B.I.B. session of 2012 and we plan to keep em coming next year. I think tomorrow we will finally use our giant green screen that has been taking up space ever since we moved in. Suggestions for what exotic locations we should have Ian shredding the cello in are welcome. Tonight I’ll be helping with sound at Lost Lake Lounge for the Fuck Cancer benefit show put on by my business partner and good friend Dan Fox. Here’s the facebook event page. http://www.facebook.com/events/518378291525037/ There’s bands and a raffle and and silent auctions on all kinds of rad stuff including free mastering at Black in Bluhm. Please come support a great cause!
Good to have these guys back! 10 new songs! As cool as it was to hang today I am very much looking forward to a day off tomorrow! Last 2 months have been nuts. Word on the street is that the Drag the River video / live track we did is coming along nicely! I haven’t seen anything yet but I’m sure Ryan is doing a rad job. Drag will be back in the studio in a couple weeks. The next Black in Bluhm session is already booked for December 15th but I’ll wait on that. Also going on right now at Black in Bluhm… Il Cattivo, mastering, Head Injuries, final mix, Boldtype, tracking, School Knights, tracking, and Swing Hero, final mix. All this should be wrapping up by November or December!
We had another B.I.B. session Saturday, this time with Drag the River laying it down! Ryan got lots of great video footage and we got one new song in the bag. Good times were had and good beer from Reverie Brewing Co was consumed. We get back to tracking today and hopefully within the next couple of days we make some real progress on what promises to be another great Drag the River record.
Il Cattivo will be back to work this week and plan to turn their much awaited EP into an LP! They have been sitting on the previously recorded songs for a while now and have even leaked a mix or two. I’m told the new songs are some of their best and I’m sure it will be a great set of sessions.
